Have you ever wondered - what actually is Raw Food?
Or perhaps you've been curious about how to integrate more raw food into your life?
If you've been thinking that you would like to make friends with salad, then you're in the right place. Lets start at the beginning shall we?
What is Raw Food?
Raw Food is uncooked, unprocessed, unrefined, unadulterated foods. A raw food diet consists of uncooked, unprocessed and unrefined foods, but also fermented, dried, and dehydrated foods. A raw food diet and lifestyle may contain dairy, meat and seafood. However, when we are teaching about food as medicine here at Raw Satya, we advocate a raw vegan diet which excludes all dairy, meat and seafood.
Why Raw Food?
Raw food is food in its natural state, uncooked, which means that no enzymes or micronutrients are lost from the cooking process. As you are eating foods which have not lost any of their nutrients or enzymes, you end up more nourished and with more energy. There are many health benefits of embarking on a raw vegan diet, as many of our clients will attest.
Is it hard?
Any lifestyle change can be hard. We know this first-hand, so we teach you how to set up your kitchen, pantry and how to transition slowly to a raw vegan diet, so that any changes you make are long-lasting. We do not believe in fads, or crash diets, and give you information on shopping habits, how to deal with cravings, and how you can control your own health for a better life. Also, once your kitchen is set up for raw food, and you have all the necessary ingredients, it is very easy to prepare raw food at home.
“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” - Rosemarie Walmlsey
